Connor Pass

Connor Pass: the scenic drive at Dingle peninsula
Connor Pass is one of the scenic highlights on Dingl Island and makes a great place for an excursion from Killarney. Thia narrow mountain-road is going from Dingl town to the northern part of the peninsula - the panorama is simply overwhelming...
BUT:
The road over Connor Pass is resticted to cars with less than 3,5 tons - the street is a one-way-track with several passing places - the rocks hang over at some places and might scratch or damage your motorhome...
Directions: Connor-Pass is north of Dingle-town, follow the signs, the road starts 5 km from the centre of Dingle-town. You may as well use it to get to Dingle-town, when you come from Tralee and use the northern coast-road of Dingle peninsula.
"Conor Pass will take you over the mountains to the north. Take it easy here as the road is steep and narrow. The rugged terrain through which you climb looks like some sort of moonscape.
It's all worthwhile however for the views from the lookout at the top. Look back towards Dingle, way down there, or across to the north over Tralee Bay past Mount Brandon, Ireland's second highest mountain at 950m, with its peak shrouded in mist. There is a walking track which gives access to the top of the mountain.
Down to the northern side and you'll find sandy beaches like Castlegregory and an easy drive to Tralee."
